Gobble Gobble

I created this card for a shoebox swap with the theme "fun holiday kids' cards".  I always enjoy finding unusual ways to use images, so I thought it would be fun to make a turkey using Christmas shapes.

All images are the copyright of Stampin' Up!
To create this card you need the following supplies which you can purchase through
my Stampin' Up website kimberlyjallen.stampinup.net

  • 104332 SNAIL Adhesive $6.95
  • 110755 Multipurpose Liquid Glue $3.95
  • 104430 Stampin' Dimensionals $3.95

Instructions:

Using your favorite adhesive assemble the turkey
in the following manner
Place head on top of the body

Place Waddle so that the point covers the point on the body.

Place the beak above the waddle

Use Paper Snips to cut two legs from the snowflake and adhere to the body

Brayer one side of the Chevron folder with Soft Suede ink, place feathers inside
and run through Big Shot to emboss the feathers

To finish, fold an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Cajun Craze card stock in half to make an A2 card.
Adhere a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of More Mustard card stock to card
Place Champagne Glimmer brads on head to create eyelids
Place googlies on top of brads to create eyes
Adhere feathers to body
Adhere finished Turkey to the card using adhesive or Stampin' Dimensionals

I also thought that the Turkey by itself (or on an easel card) would make a fun place card for Thanksgiving Dinner

I am sorry it has been so long between posts.  Life has been very busy the past month or so!  I am hoping to get back on track with this whole blog thing :)  But, here is an example of what I have been doing for the past couple weeks.  This is a Halloween costume I made for my nephew.  He wanted to be an orange dragon-- boy was it hard to find the right orange fabric!
This is the front of the costume.
Here is the back, showing the wings and tail.
This shows the underside of the tail, and the "scales" which I created using the big shot.

This is the hood from the front.
Here is a close-up of the eye.

I hope you all enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed making this costume (and my nephew enjoyed wearing it!)

Quilt Time

My sister-in-law and my neighbor both had baby girls recently.  I wanted to make each a quilt and decided that I would just make two of the same quilt to save time.  Here are the appliques that will go onto the quilts.  Each has 4 of the flowers and 6 of the lady bugs.

I like making baby quilts with flannel because it is so soft.
